With the lack of snowfall this season, yesterday was a refershing suprise at Winter Park. The ski area reported 3.5" of fresh snow Saturday night, with over a foot in the past 48 hours. Even with fresh snow, crowds were not an issue at Mary Jane or Winter Park. All of the lifts except Eagle Wind were running with many of the ski area's trails open. Coverage was still thin on many mogul runs, but the snow was soft and lift lines non-existant.
Some of the best coverage was in the Parsenn Bowl and Vasquez Ridge areas. Many of the steeper trails on Mary Jane Mtn had numerous rocks and stumps exposed, although I was able to work my way around most.
