| Evergreen Basin could have been Evergreen's big break for a sizable ski area. Initial plans called for seven Riblet double chairs, the order was actually placed with the ski lift company. The main lift line was cut in the summer of 1965 as well as two runs from the summit. The area's construction came to a halt after the Forest Service claimed the owner was cutting trails partly on National Forest land and not his private ranch. They had the option to resurvey the land, but with on going court case the plans were cancelled. The area was located off of Brook Forest Road in Evergreen off of Highway 73.
