History:
Cloudcroft opened back in 1963 with a Constam T-bar.  The t-bar's
vertical drop was 440 feet with a length of 1570 feet.  By 1964, a second
T-bar was added.  This one was constructed by Poma with a vertical
drop of only 140 feet.

In 1983, Cloudcroft invested in a new lift to the summit.  Von Roll -
Habegger, the same company that installed Keystone's River Run
Gondola, constructed a double chair.  The lift had a vertical 590 feet with
a length of 2256 feet.  Due to the area's far south location, recently bad
snow years have forced the area to operate sporadically.  The ski area
operated for the 2006-07 season.

Directions: In southern New Mexico off of Highway 82 East of
Alamogordo
