History:
The Fun Valley site is now the Antelope Butte site. In the late 90s, the
owner purchased 2 chairlifts from Crystal (Washington) and installed them
with the longer one surpassing the old t-bar line for a total of 1000 vertical
feet. Two years ago, it closed. Last year, it was announced in the fall
(2005) that, again, it wouldn't run. This summer (2006), it went up for
sale as part of a personal bankruptcy. Fun Valley was originally
(1950s) a rope tow about 1 mile down-valley before the t-bar was
located in a better area. It was later renamed Antelope Butte. Further
up-highway, there have also been tows in the past (adjacent to Burgess
jct).
Update: According to the US Forest Service, the ski area hopes to
reopen for the 2007-2008 season. Please check back for updates as
they become available.
