History:.
Summit was an old rope tow on Highway 30 before I-80 was built and
the area was regraded. Happy Jack was a T-bar a few miles north
(currently a campground). Snowfall was intermittent and vertical was only
a few hundred feet but it did have night skiing! Ran until the mid-70s and
basically existed for the University.

Directions: From Laramie, 10 minutes via I-80

"I never had the opportunity to ski Happy Jack when it was
open. During the mid to late 80's, the cross country(track & field) and
nordic(ski) teams from the University of Wyoming  utilized the terrain.
While I have a difficult time visualizing it as a serious "alpine"
area, the terrain is excellent for novice to  intermediate mountain
biking.  Before it became a bit over grown, it was more than decent for
nordic skiing and fair to good for short telemarking runs if the snow was
good (sporadic at best).  It is a rather exposed location that can be
frigid, even by "Wyoming" standards."
